Townshend State Park

Townshend State Park is alive with history, from old stone bridges to ruins of a CCC encampment. The quiet, peaceful campground offers 30 campsites (some still have tent platforms!), 4 lean-tos, restrooms and showers ($). Call ahead before bringing RVs. Bald Mountain hiking trail ascends past waterfalls, cascades and trout pools to the 2600' summit. A small wooded picnic area adds to the rustic charm. Nearby Army Corps recreation facilities offer swimming and boat launch. Located off VT Route 30.
